Harvard (John) Church is built on High Street.

1816

Originally the Second Congregational Society in Charlestown, then the New Church in Charlestown, it is located on High Street. The congregation was established in 1815 by members of the First Church in Charlestown and met initially in the former Baptist Society Church on High Street. Thomas Prentiss is the first minister and James Walker serves from 1818 to 1839. The congregation is dissolves in 1904 and the building is subsequently demolished. The site is today occupied by the Charlestown Branch Library.
